Thalia Koulas (she/they)

Founder and Counsellor

Thalia specialises in supporting the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, with a focus on autism, ADHD, gender diversity, sexual diversity, and complex trauma. They have experience working with people aged 14 and above, primarily working with 18 - 35 year olds currently. Thalia aims to create a non-judgmental space, ensuring inclusivity and genuineness in every session. She works with people at all stages of life, from queer individuals out in the community to those suspecting they may be autistic. Thalia takes particular interest in AFAB and neurodivergent individuals and the entire LGBTQIA+ community. Thalia is not suitable for someone seeking Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

People like how down-to-earth and purpose-driven Thalia is. They're all about being genuine and making sure the counselling experience is meaningful for you. Thalia encourages you to come to the therapy space as much as yourself as you can. She doesn’t mind if you need to take breaks or have accommodations. Thalia will usually chat with you while holding a fidget toy and drinking a tea or coffee.

As a proud AuDHDer and queer person, Thalia utilises their lived experience in every session. She combines personal understanding with practical solutions, fostering a collaborative and empowering atmosphere. Thalia draws from various therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

In her spare time Thalia loves to play video games, watch reality TV, go to gigs, and listen to music (anything from metal to jazz hip hop). Thalia’s current special interests are sudoku, trivia, Formula 1, and geography.

Thalia is also the Founder of Therapy Shmerapy, so they are always looking to network and create new partnerships with other small businesses. Please feel free to direct any related enquiries to them.
