Therapy Shmerapy acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live. We pay our deepest respects and gratitude to Elders past, present, and emerging. We value Indigenous ways of knowing and healing as meaningful alternatives to Western mental health paradigms. They challenge the individualistic and symptom-focused nature of many conventional therapies and advocate for a broader understanding of health that encompasses cultural, social, and environmental factors

We would also specifically like to honour Brotherboys and Sistergirls, whose very existence sheds light on the impact of colonialism on gender. We also acknowledge and appreciate their remarkable contributions to Rainbow Mob, trans, gender-diverse people, and the wider LGBTQIASB+ community. We are dedicated not only to ongoing cultural awareness, but ensuring cultural safety as best as we can for Rainbow Mob in our day-to-day lives.
