This Privacy Policy applies to our website, https://www.therapyshmerapy.com.au/ which is operated by us, and to the services offered by us which are detailed under “Our Services” on this website. We are an Australian Privacy Principle Entity (APP Entity) as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Act).

Therapy Shmerapy is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

What we collect and why we collect it

We may collect the following information:

  • your full name

  • your date of birth

  • your contact information, including email address and phone number

  • your demographic information such as gender, postcode and occupation

  • your emergency contact and next of kin details

  • any information you share with us to help us provide services to you, including what type of appointment you are seeking, and preferences

  • your credit card information (if you are paying for a service as detailed in “Our Services”)

  • information from your private health insurance fund (if you are claiming under such as detailed in “Our Services”)

  • analytics data which is collected by a third party to help us measure traffic and trends for our services.

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service. We do generally try to limit the amount of information we collect and hold. Your information is primarily held for us to be able to respond to any enquiries or bookings you may submit in relation to Our Services, and to engage with you as a user of our services on your terms.

Security and Storage

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. We cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to us and such transmission is at your risk as part of engaging with an online service. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. When we no longer require your information, we will dispose of it when we are legally permitted to do so. If you engage with our services, this legal obligation for us to store your information is longer. This will be detailed in your Confidentiality and Informed Consent form that you will receive and sign prior to attending your first appointment with us. We store demographic data, financial information and bookings on Halaxy. We store notes and any documentation completed by or for you on Microsoft One Drive (mainly OneNote and Outlook). These are all accessible by Therapy Shmerapy practitioners only. Some of our practitioners use Heidi Health as an accessibility aide while working with you. Heidi Health is an AI tool that voice records sessions and collates notes. We do not provide any identifying information to Heidi Health. If you are not comfortable with your practitioner using Heidi Health, please let them know and we will happily oblige by this. How we use cookies

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
